Wedding Return Gifts: Build a Budget and Order Plan
Choose favours with quantity, personalization and delivery in mind. Compare the complete delivered cost and arrange samples before placing a larger order.

Explore location journals →Decide what one gift represents
Agree whether gifts are per guest, household, room or event. Use the guest list to calculate quantities and identify a small reserve for changes. Decide which qualities matter most: usefulness, presentation, portability or personalization. Consider whether guests must carry the gift during travel. Keep the concept simple enough that you can evaluate a sample and explain the order clearly to the supplier.
Compare the delivered cost
Request quotations that show product quantity, packaging, printing, personalization, delivery and any applicable charges. Ask about minimum orders and the effect of a quantity change. Review a sample or a clear specification before paying for production. For food gifts, request the supplier’s product, storage and shelf-life information and make sure it suits the planned delivery schedule. Do not assume every item pictured online is included in the quoted bundle.
Plan production and distribution
Confirm the proof approval date, production lead time and delivery address. Check names, spellings and artwork carefully before authorizing printing. Agree how damaged or missing items will be reported under the supplier’s terms. Arrange a counted receiving check and storage with the venue or coordinator. Assign who distributes the gifts and at which event moment. A complete favour plan connects the order to the people who will receive it, not just the product purchase.
Quick checklist
- Choose a per-person or per-household quantity rule.
- Compare packaging and delivery inclusions.
- Review a sample and personalization proof.
- Confirm production and receiving deadlines.
- Assign storage and gift distribution.
How many extra favours should we order?
Base the reserve on uncertain guests, household counting and the supplier’s reorder lead time. Keep the reserve explicit rather than adding an arbitrary quantity to every quotation.
Put the guide into practice
Prepare your event brief, then discuss the exact location, date and scope with suppliers.
